How to make a kitty can holder
1. Trace off and transfer the head and base templates onto a piece of cardboard. Trace the body template off onto a piece of corrugated card. Cut out all of the pieces.
2. Bend the body shape around the circle of card and secure the legs and arms with sticky tape.
3. Now attach the head shape with sticky tape. If you want to build up the face area, use a pulp made from kitchen roll soaked in PVA glue.
4. Cover the whole thing with 3 or 4 layers of papier mache. Make sure it keeps its shape by doing 2 layers, letting it dry and then doing the other 1 or 2 layers. Leave it to dry thoroughly.
5. Now you can paint your holder. Cover it with one colour, let it dry and then add other colours. Add white to highlight the eyes, paws and ears.
